ITV- Independent Television Limited (ITV) is an associate company of IPP Limited. ITV started its operations in 1994 with one television station and one radio station namely ITV- Independent Television and Radio One respectively. In 2009 the company launched Capital Television and Capital Radio to fill the gaps in demand from viewers and listeners.

In 2013 ITV was awarded the number one Superbrand trophy in Tanzania and was recognized as one of the leading 100 brands in 2015 to 2017 in East Africa. In 2014, ITV was awarded the Most Compliant Tax Payer Award and it was the only media house to receive such as award.

Since its inception, the station has distinguished itself by providing content that is relevant to viewers. More than 60% of ITV’s programming is local enabling its viewers to relate to the content. ITV is available on the following decoders – Digitek, DSTV, Zuku, Star Times, Azam, Easy TV, Ting and Continental.
The highlight of ITV’s programming is the 20:00 hour’s news which is aired daily. The news covers local, international, business and sports news. Also, ITV airs local news bulletins at 06:00 hours Monday to Sunday and 23:00 hours Monday to Friday. Besides that, the station also airs hourly five minutes news from 08:55 hours to 15:55 hours. ITV has a strong and interactive presence which utilizes social media to keep the public informed at all times.
ITV has kept abreast with developments in technology by installing state of the art digital equipment which include outside broadcast facilities, automated transmission play out and some of the most modern television studio facilities in the region including a virtual studio setup.
